Backorder Policy
Sometimes we don't have enough of an item in stock to ship an order complete. In this case, unless we already have a backorder / part-ship arrangement in place with you, we will contact you to see if you would like a part-ship or if you would prefer to wait for a complete ship.
When an item goes on backorder for an extended period of time, a few issues may arise, and following is our policy on those issues.
1. Material change in item
In the case that the item has (i) physically changed or (ii) has been discontinued and a replacement SKU has been introduced, Labelcity will discuss your options with you before any item(s) is shipped.
2. Price change
Labelcity will hold the price for a backordered item for a period of no more than 60 days from the purchase date. If there is a price rise after the 60-day period, Labelcity will give the customer the choice of accepting the new price or cancelling the order.
3. Credit Card / PayPal pre-authorization
Pre-authorizations on Credit Card and PayPal payments typically expire after 30 days. If your pre-authorization expires, Labelcity will either attempt a new pre-authorization or contact you to request new payment details. In the case of PayPal payments, Labelcity will give you the option to place a new order using PayPal, or we can send you a PayPal payment link.
Note: backorders are typically closed after a period of 6 months, or when a customer has not responded to correspondence pertaining to the backorder.
The above policies are current as of 7/1/2021 and may be amended at Labelcity's discretion from time to time.
